30 product review/Monthly Favorites ( January/February)

Hello!

It has been awhile. Sorry for disappearing. Life has been busy! On the bright side, a life blog post will be up shortly. ;)

I have been testing a lot of products since beginning of this year. I haven't really talked about any of them because: 1) I didn't get enough time to test them. To me, one month is not enough 2) My skin has been cranky lately and it finally just cleared up 3) I didn't want to switch products often.

My mini info

Skin type: Combination to oily (T-zone)
Breakouts: Yes, specially around that time of the month
Sensitivity: Semi-sensitive (easily dried out)
Skin tone: Yellow with pink undertone

Skin Care

1.   First Aid Beauty Face cleanser

Can I just say...O.M.G.? This has officially replaced my most beloved facial cleanser- Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser, 8 Ounce . This product really lathers up which means a little bit goes a long way. It does not contain added scents/perfumes (It does not have a smell to me, but some say it kind of smells like vaseline). It removes makeup and cleans my face without making me feel dried out. For the price of $ 20 a tube, it is truly worth it.

Tip: Buy this product in trial size in bulk on Amazon to test it out first ( $13 only rather than $ 20 for full size). Everyone's skin is different.

Official description:

"What it does: This Face Cleanser gently cleanses the skin, removing surface oils, makeup, dirt, and grime-and its whipped texture transforms into a rich cream when blended with water. It is infused with a powerful botanical antioxidant blend that works hard to scavenger free radicals. It calms redness and is pH-balanced to maintain the natural acidity of the skin. Daily use will result in fewer flare ups and reduced skin reactivity. What it is formulated WITHOUT: - Parabens - Sulfates - Phthalates What else you need to know: This product is appropriate for all skin types, including the most sensitive skin. It has been allergy-tested, dermatologist-recommended, and contains FAB Antioxidant Booster (white tea, licorice root, and feverfew) to combat free radicals."

2. Korres Greek Yogurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial

At fist I was very hesitant to try this product, it is marked for dry skin types but my skin was more on the dry side this winter (due to the north-pole weather we been having here). If your skin gets too dry, more oil will be produced which equals breakouts!!!

I love the smell and feel of this product. It is very creamy. I use this at night after I wash and tone my face. This soothes my skin and makes me feel relaxed before bedtime. (plus my little puppy loves the smell, she licks my hand after I use it :p).

Makeup

1.       Nars Sheer Glow Foundation ( I use the shade: Deauville)

I stumbled across this product when I was trying hard to search for my all time favorite high end foundation. I am not saying this is going to be my all time favorite but I love it enough to repurchase again. Don't judge this product by its name. It does not make me glow at all. (maybe its just me?)

It blends into my pores and hides them perfectly. It also gives off a matte finish on my skin. It makes your skin look smooth and flawless without looking like you piled on makeup. I want to emphasize how much this product blends into your own skin, it does not just float on top like many others. It makes you feel soft.

2.       Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Light Bisque

If you have serious dark eye circles, this is the product for you. This light pink concealer will cancel out any darkness around the eye and instantly brightens. I love how easy it is to blend. This doesn't flake under the eyes.

Tip: Make sure you use an eye cream before putting this on. If you don't use an eye cream before any under eye concealer, it will flake and enhance your lines.

3.       Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed powder ( I use the shade: Natural)

This powder is so thin and light. Even though It feels light, it provides enough color and coverage to set the foundation. It lasts long enough for a drugstore powder. It also has not broke me out. Yay!

4.       Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Dark Brown

Everyone has been raving about this product for years. I always have been using it but I never used it correctly until now. This is my perfect shade. I use the lighter color for first 2/3 of my brow and the dark color for the last 1/3. It blends in with your natural color very well even though it's lighter. It also lasts all day. It is worth the price tag because this little pot goes a long way.

Tip: Double this as an eye liner by using an eyeliner pencil. Works like a charm when you have to travel.

Fragrance

I feel like I don't talk about this category enough. I own way too many scents. Currently, I am loving the Couture La LA by Juicy Couture. This is a sweet yet refreshing. It works great with my body chemistry. If you like Viva LA Juicy or the original Juicy Couture perfume, you will like this too!

-Until Next Time-

XOXO,
